There are things we keep holding onto and we end up wasting so much time while doing them. Here are things you should stop wasting your time doing ASAP.
1. Letting the likes you get on social media define your worth.
If you’re on of those people who post photos to get validation from a bunch of strangers then you need to grow up. Remember they just like how you look in that photo and they don’t actually care about you. Stop trying to get likes to define your worth, your worth is determined by how you feel about yourself.
2. Toxic relationships.
Let go of people who ruin your emotional or mental state. These are people that are poison in your life. They take away from you and never add anything of value but anger and hurt.
3. Staying in a relationship because you don’t want to be alone.
If you’re staying with someone because you’re afraid of being alone then you’re there for the wrong reasons. You would rather be alone than with someone who just fills a void and probably doesn’t treat you right.
4. Always explaining yourself to other people.
Your decisions are yours at the end of the day. People can advice you but if you don’t like it then you don’t need to explain why. Just remember if you fall it is because of your own decision.
5. Constantly seeking reassurance that you are enough.
You need to stop trying to reassure yourself with other people’s comments and compliments. This gives irrelevant people the power to either break you or build you which is not necessary.
6. Allowing people to tell you you are not capable.
No one has the right to tell you what you can or cannot do. You’re the only one who has the power to decide if you can or won’t do something because nothing is impossible.
7. Letting other people’s fear influence you.
Don’t let other people’s downfall or fear influence you, learn from people’s experience but do not let it determine your mood to do things.
8. Excuses to not do better.
Cut the excuses from your life and start doing things. You cannot claim to want to be better and still do the same things. Let go of the excuses and do better for yourself.
9. Never leaving your comfort zone.
Try new things and stop being comfortable with the monotony in your life. You can always do better as long as you believe in yourself, push yourself to do better in all parts of your life.
10. Holding on to things you never use.
I mean things like clothes and clutter in your life you generally don’t use. Let go of them and make room for new things.
12. Hanging out with people that won’t take you anywhere in life.
Why hold on to people that are just good for drinks and going out? You need to do better than that, you would rather have two friends that are true to you than people who waste your time.
13. Acting like you’re never wrong
You’re not always right so you need to accept when you are wrong so you can also learn from others.
