The woman stood up from the congregation and moved towards Odinga telling him he must take the oath to be the people’s president.
The Former Prime Minister, who was smiling, took the Bible at least not to disappoint the woman who was jovial as the gathering cheered.
The Opposition leader promised the crowd that he would be sworn in 2018 and urged them not to give up.
“I want the doubting Thomases to know that I will be sworn in as the People’s President in the coming weeks. This is because I won the elections and those doubting this can look at the IEBC servers,” he affirmed.
Raila’s inauguration was scheduled for December 12th before NASA cancelled the event.
NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi said that they had made the decision after wide consultations.
However, Odinga recently announced that plans to swear him in were underway early next year.
At the same time, AG Githu Muigai has warned that any attempt to swear in Odinga amounts to treason which is punishable by death.
On the other hand, NASA lead lawyer James Orengo has insisted that it’s hard to prove or charge anyone with treason.
