How To Cook Kenyan Dengu Recipe

To make the Kenyan dengu recipe, you need cooked green grams (dengu), onions, tomatoes and seasoning.  If you are a vegan, this is a delicious recipe to try out.  To cook dengu you need to boil them until they are soft for around 30-40 minutes.  Dengu can be served with chapati, rice, matoke, mashed potatoes among others. They are cheap and full of protein, fiber and Dengu/Green grams are good and tasty!

Ingredients
1 cup of cooked dengus /green grams

1 Onion diced

2 Tomatoes Diced

2 cloves of Garlic diced

1 Medium Green Pepper (hoho) diced

1 carrot diced

¼ tsp of pepper

2 Royco or Maggi cubes

Oil for Frying

Salt to Taste

Directions
Step 1: Fry onions and garlic for 1 minute

Step 2: Add the tomatoes, carrots, green pepper, salt, pepper, seasoning and cook until soft

Step 3: Next, add the cooked dengu and stir.

Step 4: Next add in water the same level with the green grams. Cover and boil for 10 minutes.

Step 5: Serve your Kenyan dengu recipe with a meal of your choice.
