However, it has been said that apart from working out, diet is a very big contribution to your waist. You’re always told about the foods that you need to cut out in order to become smaller, but how about the foods you can actually eat that will help get your waist smaller? 1. Berries.

One of the things you have to reduce if you want a smaller waist is sugar. Berries help curb your sweet tooth and are also a great fiber source. Fresh berries are high in vitamins and minerals, and although they do contain sugar, their high fiber slows digestion and makes them a reliable source of energy.

2. Chia seeds.

I used to see people put chia seeds in every meal and I would wonder why. Chia seeds are a superfood that will help you lose fat around your midsection. It energizes your body with its rich source of protein. It also keeps you feeling full longer which basically means your system won’t store extra food and won’t leave you bloated. You can add it to smoothies, cereals or yogurt.

3. Hot pepper.

You can either choose to have a hot spicy meal or alternatively you can chew the pepper if you’re strong enough to do it. Hot pepper speeds up your metabolism and helps in burning calories, however, if you have gastritis it is advisable to keep off hot pepper.

4. Kale.

This is not exactly an exciting meal to have but it is one healthy one. In Kenya, it is known as sukuma wiki and it is one of our staple foods which is great because it gives us vitamin K which is anti-inflammatory and helps with bloating.

5. Lentils.

A lentil dish is also another unexciting meal, I personally do not like it but I found a few Indian recipes that are perfect. They are rich in fiber, low in fat and high in protein. I mean what else do you need?

6. Eggs.

Eggs are basically known as nourishing protein, the best thing about eggs is how many recipes you can try with them. They keep you full for a long time and burn muscle fat.

7. Spicy hot mustard.

You can mix regular mustard with chili and apparently having a teaspoon a day can speed up your metabolism.

8. Watermelon.

Many people think watermelon is tasteless but depending on the one you buy it can be quite refreshing. They are a natural diuretic that’s rich in minerals and vitamins. You can either snack on them or add them to your smoothie.

 

9. Yogurt.

Yogurt is always on every healthy food list. This is because yogurt contains probiotics, which boost the beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. But plain unsweetened yogurt is said to be better obviously because the flavored yogurts have too much sugar which won’t help slim down.
