We probably all know who Larry Madovo is, but he wasn’t always the sensation and media guru he is today.
In a recent post on Instagram, Larry Madovo was spotted smiling for the camera in Gikomba. The caption below then goes on to admit that Gikomba is where he started off selling mandazi and tea fresh out of high school.
He eventually decided take journalism as a course with a communications degree at Daystar University. In 2007, he interned for a vernacular radio station Bahasha FM reading news in English.
He then dropped out of college a year and a half later to take up a job at Kenya Television Network, Africa’s oldest private television network, and the rest is history.
He moved from KTN to NTV among other things, and is currently hosting the popular TV show called #Sidebar.
With more than 1 million followers on twitter, and half a million followers on Instagram, Larry Modowo has become a household name, and a source of inspiration to many.
