AU Representative Raila Turns 74, Birthday Wishes Flood His Twitter Account

As he turns 74. Kenyans have flooded AU representative Raila Odinga’s Twitter account with birthday wishes.

“Raila who is in Mombasa has no big plans for today unless the people in the area surprise him,” his spokesman Denis Onyango said on Monday.

Today, he and President Uhuru are expected to attend the launch of the regeneration of Mama Ngina Drive recreational park in Mombasa.

The facility, which borders the Indian Ocean at the Likoni Ferry Channel, will be upgraded at a cost of Sh460 million.

Even as a surprise may await him, Kenyans on Twitter and Facebook sent him best wishes.

Raila’s son Raila Junior Odinga tweeted: ‘Have a happy birthday dad @RailaOdinga, as usual, this year I got woken up like every year by @JalangoMwenyewe looking for your number to wish you happy birthday. Next year he should save it. #shade.”

Other Kenyans on Twitter used the hashtag #HappyBirthdayRaila to send good wishes.

One @ItsChegenjoroge said: “You are truly a legend in this country.”

@Lordwainaina_ said “Happy birthday Hon. Raila Odinga lives long son of the soil enjoys the day baba @RailaOdinga #HappyBirthdayRaila.”

“Dear your Excellency Rt Hon @RailaOdinga; As you continue running the Jubilee’s government, remember we are still matching to Canaan and please, don’t comment anything happening within the dying Jubilee party. Happy long life,” @JapethEkidor said.

@Navatronics254 said, “#HappyBirthdayRaila Real leaders are born like you Baba not made like others enjoy as u age gracefully.”

Last year, Raila celebrated his birthday by addressing rallies and meetings in Kakamega.

“I have been overwhelmed by the huge number of warm birthday wishes which have filled me with immense joy. I thank the Almighty for seeing me through this far. Thank you all very much from the bottom of my heart, asanteni sana,” Raila said on his Twitter page.
