Former Bomet Governor and National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Isaac Ruto could become a matatu tout or a milk seller if his sentiments are anything to go by.
Ruto was floored by Jubilee’s Joyce Laboso in the race for Bomet governor, and as a gentleman, he accepted defeat, attended Laboso’s inauguration and shared jokes with the residents.
Ruto’s defeat was as a result of ditching President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party, which enjoys popularity in Bomet, and joining the opposition NASA.
While handing over the instruments of power, Ruto left Uhuru (the president attended the inauguration) and the residents in stitches when he said he was considering becoming a matatu driver of a milk seller.
“I can be a matatu driver or start milking cows from today since I’m free now. But when you see me passing around, don’t fail to say hi. From now on, it’s time to build this county and make it more prosperous. God bless you all,” Ruto said as quoted by SDE.
President Uhuru took the opportunity to thank him for conceding defeat and called on Raila Odinga, the NASA flag bearer, to emulate him and concede.
Raila has filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging Uhuru’s win.
