Cholera Cases In Kiambu Rise To 48


Cholera cases in Githurai, Kiambu county have increased from 28 to 48 in just two days.

Kiambu Medical superintendent Jesse Ngugi has asked members of the public and hospital staff to be careful while eating from outside.cholera

“The facility has for the last few days admitted 48 patients who have been treated and some discharged with new cases still being reported,” Ngugi said.

Doctors in Kiambu said they suspect the cholera outbreak is a result of contamination of water by raw sewage, a situation aggravated by the heavy rains.
