Deputy President William Ruto was on Friday forced to change the landing venue of his chopper after hailstones and Heavy rains that were experienced in Kisii County.
According to The Standard, he was headed there to commission the tarmacking of a road linking Sosera to Kiomiti in Nyaribari Masaba.
Ruto, who was set to land at Bongota School for a rally, had to redirect to Nyakoba Primary School which is 20 KMs away.
The DP then headed to a fundraiser of a local catholic church at Amabuko Secondary School.
During the downpour, the leaders and government officials who had been in wait for more than seven hours sought shelter in their personal vehicles.
Besides road commissioning, the Deputy President was also expected to lay the foundation for a Gucha Medical Training Centre.
He was also due to lead the fundraising of Nyamonyo Secondary School the same day.
Ruto had lead another fundraising rally in Suneka, Kisii the previous day.
