High School Student Murders Colleague Over Football Match

Kipkurion Secondary School has just lost one of there student who died as a result of injury inflicted on him by another school mate after an argument ensued between them both during a football match.

The deceased was hit fatally on the head by his classmate.

The suspect who is a form three student who also have a notorious reputation for violence has been apprehended by the police in Bomet County.

The deceased gave up while receiving treatment at Tenwek Mission Hospital over the injury he sustained after he was hit with a blunt object

Those who witnessed the whole incident said it all started as a normal argument over a football game before it turned into a fight all of a sudden.

The suspect and the deceased are said to have differed during a football game. An argument ensued and the suspect hit his colleague with a blunt object on the back of the head.

Bomet Police boss Samson Rukunga said the parents of the deceased reported the matter to the police, leading to the suspect’s arrest.

“We received the report from the parents of the deceased and immediately moved to arrest the student to help us in our investigations,” Mr Rukunga told the press in his office.

According to the police, the suspect has been mentioned in another school assault case at Kipyosit Secondary School, where he was a student before moving to Kipkurion in Bomet East constituency.

“The suspect seems to be a notorious character. We have discovered that he has another case that is pending,” said Mr Rukunga.

In the latest incident, the school administration has been put on the spot for failing to report the incident when it happened.

Administrators, however, rushed the victim to Longisa County Referral Hospital from where he was referred to Tenwek Mission Hospital for further treatment when his condition grew worse.
