It has just been Two months after Joey Muthengi called it quits at Citizen TV, the anchor is headed back to the Voice of America (VOA) on a new assignment.
Elated, the former 10 over 10 co-hosts disclosed that she has landed a lucrative position at VOA’s English to Africa Service.
“OMG, Voice of America was my 1st internship while still in college. I can’t even. Look at God,” posted Muthengi.
This was in a caption of a screengrab from an email from the largest U.S. international broadcaster which read, “Joey, English to Africa Service Voice of America has an urgent job request for you, please review on play desk and accept or decline ASAP.”
Muthengi is returning to VOA where she interned while pursuing a Communications and Business Management course in the United States.
She walked away from Royal Media Services (RMS) in November 2018 saying she was preparing her path to the next chapter.
“I’m so thankful for the opportunity. Looking forward to the future. Trusting that the God I serve got there way before me and is now preparing my path to the next chapter,” she wrote on social media.
Her Day Break co-host Willis Raburu thanked her for standing with him during hard times in the course of their work.
“What a ride it has been. You inspire me with your passion and meticulous planning, your organization, and your amazing spirit. Most people don’t even understand our chemistry or how hard it is to find in this industry,” stated Raburu.
