Kanze Dena Takes Over At State House As Manoah Esipisu Lands Ambassador Job

Former Citizen TV anchor Kanze Dena has already earned a promotion at State House, barely six weeks after accepting the role of deputy State House spokesperson.

Ms Dena is now the acting State House spokesperson and head of the Presidential Strategic and Communication Unit after her boss Manoah Esipisu was nominated for an ambassadorial position.

Mr Esipisu has been the State House’s spokesman since President Uhuru Kenyatta was elected in 2013.

Ms Dena made the announcement on Friday during a press briefing at State House.

“Now that my boss Manaoh Esipisu has been redeployed, I wish to announce I am the acting State House spokesperson,” she explained.

She also announced a mini cabinet reshuffle that has affected two Cabinet Secretaries and about half a dozen Principal Secretaries.

In the changes, Adan Mohamed is now Cabinet Secretary for East African Affairs and Regional Development Authorities, swapping roles with Peter Munya who takes over the Industry, Trade and Cooperatives docket.

Further, Prof. Collete A Suda moves to the Ministry of Education as Chief Administrative Secretary and Principal Secretary in charge of the State Department for University Education, while Simon Kachapin has moved to the Ministry of Energy as the Chief Administrative Secretary.

Former chairperson of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission Sarah Serem heads a list of eight nominees who will serve as ambassadors and high commissioners, subject to parliament’s approval.

Others are Lt. Gen Saluel Thuita, Francis Muhoro, Esipisu, George Ochillo Ayacko, Amb Peter Nicholas Oginga Ogego, Johnson Mogo Ondieki, Chris Karumba Mburu and Benjamin Lagat.
