The Kenya Meteorological Department report for the period April 3 to 9, 2018, stated that the Central Highlands, the Coast and the Southeast Lowlands are likely to continue receiving light rainfall while some parts of the Northeast may experience enhanced rainfall from today (April 3).
The Nyanza region (Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira counties), parts of the Rift Valley region (Trans Nzoia, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Nandi, Laikipia, Nakuru, Narok, Kajiado, Kericho and Bomet counties) and parts of the Western region (Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma and Busia counties) are expected to experience sunny mornings giving way to afternoon showers that would be accompanied with thunderstorms.
But in Turkana, West Pokot and Samburu counties there will be a possibility of morning rains and afternoon showers with thunderstorms from Tuesday and throughout the forecast period.
A similar weather pattern will also be experienced in Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa and Isiolo counties are expected to experience morning rains over several places from Tuesday giving way to afternoon showers that are expected over several places on Tuesday and over few places for the remaining days.
Kitui, Makueni, Machakos and Taita Taveta counties are likely to experience mainly sunny intervals the entire day throughout the forecast period with a possibility of evening showers over a few places within the region.
The same weather pattern will also be experienced in the counties of Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale throughout the forecast period.
