On Thursday, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i promised to President Uhuru Kenyatta regarding the rollout of projects countrywide.
The CS, who was recently bestowed with the Super CS title, further promised the head of state that he would curb wastage in government while upholding the integrity of the public service.
Matiang’i was speaking in the first-ever meeting in Kisii that he had attended together with the president since becoming the Super CS.
“We will ensure we realise the objectives the President has for our country. We know how much you are passionate about development and honesty. My sleeves are rolled up, ready to work,” stated Matiang’i.
He further vowed not to let the President down promising to do whatever it took to protect public resources despite the challenges he had been facing.
“This is the first time I am in a public function with you in Kisii, my home area, since you appointed me to chair and co-ordinate development programmes and work with my Cabinet colleagues. By the grace of God and in the name of our father above, I will be very honest, will do my best and will not let you down,” he told the President.
