Matiang’i has insisted that all the syllabus books will be printed by the Government’s body, Kenya Literature Bureau (KLB).
The Education CS also instructed KLB staff to have all the books ready by January.
The staff of the South C – based parastatal were forced to cancel their Christmas break to ensure that the numerous copies are released on time.
Matiang’i spoke during the launch of the new books that are expected to align with the new educational curriculum.
Education Ministry officials have come under criticism over the drastic reforms introduced in the new curriculum.
Teacher’s union officials, including the CS’ brother, John, have accused Matiang’i of failing to consult stake holders who will be involved in implementing the new curriculum.
