It is budget day in Nyeri County and the government is set to table its proposals on how it intends to spend Ksh.7.6 billion for the next financial year.
According to budget estimates tabled before the County Assembly, the budget is projected to be Ksh.3million less than the previous year’s which was Ksh.7.9billion.
The lion share of this year’s budget, Ksh.2.5billion, has been allocated to health.
Agriculture is to receive Ksh.433million, which is less than what was allocated in the last financial year.
Nyeri Woman Representative Rahab Mukami is urging the county government to consider lowering the proposed taxes.
