Four suspected robbers have been killed by flying squad officers in Karen, Nairobi.
According to police sources the four were about to stage a robbery when the officers pounced on them.
Police sources indicate that the four had hatched a plot to commit a robbery in Karen suburb Tuesday evening and police officers were trailing them.
And as soon as they disembarked from the car they were using, the four defied police orders to surrender themselves and instead opened fire. A shoot out ensued and the four were gunned down.
Two firearms were recovered from the suspects. Residents who did not want to speak on camera said the suspects are part of a gang that has been terrorizing Karen residents for months now.
Separately, Police in Kiambu are holding a headmaster said to have assaulted a parent who refused to pay a trip fee for her child.
The headmaster of Brilliant school in Gikambura, Kiambu County was arrested after the parent lodged a complaint with the police claiming she was given several slaps by the headmaster after she questioned the rational of the trip fees.
The parent had visited the school office and met the Head teacher who is said to have given him several slaps before calling security officers manning the institution to throw him out.
Despite the ordeal of the parent teachers at the institution are said to have then ejected her out of the school compound.
She was rescued by well-wishers who were passing by and later other parents joined in a protest outside the school calling for the arrest of head teacher for misconduct.
The head teacher was later arrested and is awaiting to be arraigned in court.
