Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has formally registered his Sakaja Johnson Foundation as an NGO to empower women and youth.
Sakaja on Thursday said the foundation will focus on improving livelihoods of the less fortunate through education support and training.
It will also help in leadership development, arts and sports development, health, women and youth empowerment across the county.
Sakaja who has been keen on the empowerment of women and youth has previously sponsored legislation to address business opportunities and youth employment.
He said the foundation will also deal with matters touching on health, specifically Maternal, children below five years, reproductive health, research and advocacy.
“We shall also focus on education support especially Early Child Development and training as we further explore sustainable Economic Empowerment programs for women, Youth and People Living with Disabilities,” he said.
Sakaja said, “I am excited to receive the certificate of registration for The Sakaja Johnson Foundation today from the NGOs Coordinating Board. I am confident that the impact of this foundation will touch millions of hearts and improve livelihoods of the less fortunate throughout the country”.
