Two APs Apprehended For Transporting Illicit Liquor in a Police Van

Last evening arrested were Two AP officers in Mumias, Kakamega, after they were caught allegedly transporting illicit liquor in a police vehicle.

The officers were arrested alongside a trader identified at Mayoni after members of the public reported that the vehicle was ferrying suspicious goods.

Mumias police boss Peter Katam said the illicit liquor is believed to have been sneaked into the country through the Busia border and was being ferried to Kakamega Town.

The nabbed alcohol, which was in sachets, was estimated to be worth Sh200,000. The three were detained at Mumias police station as further investigations continue ahead of their arraignment.
